About Hondo's Speed Shop
The name of our shop came out of the love for our long time neighbor. John "Hondo" Hetz lived across the street from our family for 12 years. The blue GMC truck that is the staple of our shop was his truck.
Hey big boy
Hey big boy, that was the greeting I got every time I saw Hondo. I can still hear his quiet yet strong voice saying it. Hondo was a real cowboy, a gentleman, a hero, a real life John Wayne. Always showing the example of being caring, concerned, and interested in my life. He road into the sunset leaving a legacy of how we should live.
